Recruitment Agency insurance will cover a variety of indemnity and liabilities risks, some examples of which are shown below:
Alleged negligence
As a recruitment professional you are responsible for ensuring the candidates that you put forward to your client for their advertised role are able to meet the requirements of the role as stated in the job description.
If a candidate you recommended is taken on and it comes to light that the candidate lied on their CV and does not have the skills to undertake the tasks of the role, then the client could take legal action against you to recover their recruitment costs. Professional Indemnity insurance would cover you in this instance.
You damage property while working on a clients’ premises
You are visiting a client to discuss potential candidates when you accidentally knock a cup of coffee over onto a sofa in the clients’ meeting room. The client seeks compensation for the damage caused and the costs to have the sofa professionally cleaned. Public Liability insurance would cover you in this instance.
Our industry-specific recruitment insurance is provided through our AgencyInsure scheme.
An example insurance quote for a recruitment agency requiring Professional Indemnity insurance with a £500,000 limit of indemnity cover, and also Employers’ Liability insurance for up to 50 employees would pay £385.00 per annum. (Figure correct as of 10.11.2021).
Alternatively, a recruitment professional with a fee income up to £50,00 per year who requires Professional Indemnity insurance to a limit of £500,0000 of indemnity cover would pay £200.00 per annum. That’s only £16.66 per month. (Figure correct as of 10.11.2021).
If you employ staff you will be required by law to carry a minimum of £5 million of Employers’ Liability insurance. Caunce O’Hara provide £10 million of cover as standard.
Public Liability insurance is often a contractual requirement to protect members of the public, your clients’ staff and their property.
Cyber Liability insurance will respond to protect your recruitment agency in the event of a breach of your systems and your sensitive client data.
Legal Expenses insurance will provide cover for costs incurred from a legal occurrence or claim that your indemnity and liability insurance does not cover, including the costs incurred from an IR35 tax investigation.
